CREATING THE LOCAL REVENUE GENERATION COMPOSITE TEAM FOR THE CITY OF COTABATO FOR 2015

 

WHEREAS, the City Government of Cotabato is determined to gradually resolve and break itself free from the dependence on the Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) which will manifest itself in the next five years as it envisions increase in local tax collection.

WHEREAS, one strategy is the adoption of effective revenue-generating measures, e.g.; enhanced tax collection via a vigorous tax information campaign and intensified tax collection effort; and updating of scale of fees comparable with other LGUs to an increase of about 10% for the budget year, among others.

WHEREAS, it has been decided as one of the Real Property Tax Collection strategy to create a Special Task Force composed of representatives from the Treasury, Assessor's, Accounting, Association of Barangay Chairmen (ABC), and Office for Legal Services to conduct a thorough tax mapping of all unpaid real property taxes in the 37 barangays and a counterpart for the Business and Other Taxes with membership from the OCM-License Division for the period February 1, 2015 onwards.

NOW, THEREFORE, I JAPAL J. GUIANI, JR., Mayor of the City of Cotabato, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law do hereby create and compose the Local Revenue Generation Composite Team (LRGCT):

SECTION 1. COMPOSITION

SECTION 2. FUNCTIONS OF THE TEAM

1. To conduct tax mapping in the 37 barangays of Cotabato City, including conduct of barangay assembly.

2. To submit a monthly report to the City Mayor on the accomplishment of the team.

SECTION 3. FUNDING REQUIREMENT

The amount of Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (P500,000.00) will be made available for the mobilization and other operational expenditures of the LRGCT, particularly:

a. Food (including barangay assembly)      P        370,000.00
b. Fuel/Lubricant Expenses                                  44,000.00
c. Supplies & Materials                                        56,000.00
d. Contingency                                                   30,000.00
TOTAL        P                                            500,000.00
 

SECTION 4. EFFECTIVITY

This Executive Order shall take effect immediately and shall remain in force unless amended and/or rescinded by competent authority.
