EO 16 - Anti Kidnapping Task Force

EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 16

ORGANIZING THE COTABATO CITY ANTI-KIDNAPPING TASK FORCE

WHEREAS, the latest incident of kidnapping in the city has alarmed the general public;

WHEREAS, there is an urgent need to focus and coordinate government attention and efforts for the immediate apprehension and prosecution of the people or syndicates involved in the kidnappings;

I, JAPAL J. GUIANI, JR., by virtue of the powers vested in my by law as Mayor of Cotabato City, do hereby order the organization of the Cotabato City Anti-Kidnapping Task Force), as follows:

SECTION 1. Composition.

SECTION 2. The Task Force shall ensure the effective investigation and successful prosecution of offenders in kidnapping cases as well as to provide necessary protection for the victims and witnesses.

SECTION 3. The Task Force should see to it that kidnapping cases are resolved within thirty (30) days from the date of receipt of the complaint thereon.

SECTION 4. The Task Force shall meet and submit a weekly report on its operations, progress report on the investigations conducted, and its accomplishments to the City Mayor.

SECTION 5. A Secretariat shall be organized to assist the Task Force in the handling of its records, documents and correspondence. It shall be headed by the Secretary to the City Mayor.

SECTION 6. All other order, issuances and memoranda issued inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.

SECTION 7. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
