Cotabato City named one of the most competitive cities in the country

IMG_3683In the recent Regional Development Council Meeting, Cotabato City was one of the cities in the Region awarded as one of the Most Competitive Cities in the Philippines as a result of the Competitiveness Indicators Survey by the National Competitiveness Council Philippines. 

Cotabato City was 31st among 50 Cities who met the requirements and qualified for the contest. The participating cities and municipalities in the survey were judged according to local convergent factors: economic dynamism, government efficiency, and infrastructure.

Kidnap Victim Mike Khemani, released by captors

IMG_3085Indian National and businessman Mike Khemani was released by his kidnappers on Friday (November 15) after being in captive for 17 days.

Khemani was rescued by local authorities somewhere between Kabuntalan and Datu Piang Maguindanao at aroung 7:30 in the evening, Friday. With the concerted efforts of the Philippine National Police, Philippine Marines, the Local Government of Cotabato, and other concerned agencies, the victim was safely transported to his family in Cotabato City.

Cotabato City expands its water services to its far flung villages through the Salintubig Project.
